The castle of Moulbaix

The castle of Moulbaix is an abandoned castle since 2005, near the village of Moulbaix in the Ath district, Hainaut province. The picturesque neo-Tudor style castle was designed around 1860 by the Ath architect Désiré Limbourg. After being set on fire and restored in 1889, the castle is part of a 62-hectare estate, including 2 hectares of landscaped park designed by the landscape architect Louis Fuchs. The castle belongs to the Govaert family. Despite being classified, it is in danger, and the abandonment of the property saddens the residents of Moulbaix in particular.
