The Hoba meteorite, located near Grootfontein in Namibia đŗđĻ, is the largest known intact meteorite on Earth, weighing approximately 60 tons.
Composed mainly of iron and nickel, it is believed to have fallen to Earth around 80,000 years ago, though it was only discovered in 1920.
Its unusually flat surfaces may have allowed it to land without forming a typical impact crater. Remarkably, the meteorite has never been moved from its original site, and a small amphitheater has been built around it for public viewing.
The Hoba meteorite is not only a significant scientific specimen but also a cultural landmark, offering insight into Earth's ancient encounters with objects from space.
