The Château de Bon Repos France 🇫🇷

The Château de Bon Repos is an old fortified house, from the 15th and 16th centuries, remodeled in the 17th and 19th centuries, which stands in the commune of Jarrie in the Isère department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. The remains of the enclosure date from the 12th and 13th centuries. The Château de Bon Repos was built around 1470, at the beginning of the Renaissance, by Guillaume Armuet. Owned by the Armuet family, it was the property of the d'Auberjon de Murinais family between 1673 and 1811, then of the Costa de Beauregard family. In the 19th century, it changed owners several times before being, in 1874, the property of Jules Jouvin. The deterioration of the castle accelerated with the fall of the roof in 1917. It was bought from the Jouvin descendants by the commune of Jarrie in 1976. The association of the castle of Bon Repos was created in 1978 for the restoration, entertainment and other purposes within the castle. It now welcomes many visitors and shows of all kinds whether they are given outdoors or indoors in the cellars. The exterior of the castle is permanently accessible, the interior is open to the public on the third Sunday of each month (except in August).
