Vorden Castle is a castle and manor house located southeast of the village of Vorden in the municipality of Bronckhorst, in the province of Gelderland in the Netherlands. Vorden Castle was first mentioned in 1315. The castle was originally a military structure and had been inhabited since 1315.
In 1580, during the Eighty Years' War, it was plundered and restored thirty years later. Over the centuries, the house was owned by various noble families, including the Ripperda family and from 1771 to 1974 by the Van der Borch family.
After World War II, the castle became empty and fell into increasing disrepair. The castle was in poor condition when it came into the possession of Het Geldersch Landschap in 1974, together with the goods and associated land.
The surrounding land was sold to the Vorden municipality. In 1976 it was restored and serves as the Vorden town hall. In 2004, the (former) Vorden municipality sold the castle to private individuals.
These restored the house to its former glory. Since then, the castle has been used as a wedding venue and museum. The castle can be visited for a fee.
